Seminars and Lectures- Lecutres- Jordan- Lesson (2): Migration (Hijra)

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Forward:

After we start with saying "we seek refuge with Allah from Satan the accursed", we refer to Allah's Saying:

((If you help him (Muhammad, peace be upon him) not (it does not matter), for Allah did indeed help him when the disbelievers drove him out, the second of two, when they (Muhammad, peace be upon him and Abu Bakr) were in the cave, and he said to his companion (Abu Bakr): "Be not sad (or afraid), surely Allah is with us."))

[At-Taubah, 40]

Blessings and peace be upon our Master, Prophet Muhammad the illiterate Prophet, peace be upon him.

The subject matter of our meeting today is: "There is no migration after the conquest (of Makkah)".

Dear brother, I am pleased and honored, while we are celebrating these blessed days, to welcome, personally and on behalf of my family, the notable scholar Muhammad Rateb Al-Nabulsi who has spent his life in obeying the Almighty Allah, defending the Hanif religion (Islam) and supporting its just cause. He has been a good ambassador of Islam and the best to speak out the word of truth facing the vicious attack Islam is exposed to.
Dear folks and dearest ones, before we listen to the notable Shaikh Muhmmad Rateb Al-Nabulsi, let us invite Mr. Yusuf Al-'Ajaymah to speak.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatoh (May the peace and mercy of Allah be with you), Allah says:

((And We have sent you (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).))

[Al-Anbiya', 107]

Sadaqa Allaahu Al-'Azeem (Allaah Almighty has spoken the truth).

O Allah, may Your blessings and peace be upon our Master, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. He, peace be upon him, said:

((Verily, I am sent only to complete the heights of morality.))

[Imam Ahmad, by Abi Hurairah]

Dear brother, on this occasion (The Hujri [lunar] New Year) I would like to send my greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah II, son of Husain. I also congratulate you, the people of the Muslim world, and Kul Aam Wa Antom Bi Khair (May every year finds you in good). Also, I would like to welcome the notable scholar Muhammad Rateb Al-Nabulsi for his presence and his willingness to give this lecture on this endeared occasion, in the assembly of Al-'Ajaymeh clans.

We praise Allah for the peace and security we are in as our brother in the neighboring countries are suffering security chaos and civil wars launched by extremist armed groups which claim to be Islamic, while they are very far from Islam. We praise Allah for the love and affability amongst the people of this country, and Allah is the granter of prosperity, and Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatoh.

Let us be all ears while listening to the Shaikh (Rateb), and to what he would be inspired by Allah. May Allah bless you dear Shaikh, please come and start your lecture.

The meaning of Al-Hijrah:

 Dr. Nabulsi:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, Lord (The One and Only) of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Master, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, upon his Family, his Companions and his descendants, the trustees of his Message and leaders of his army, and be pleased with us and them O Lord of the Worlds.

O Allah our Lord, lead us out from the depths of darkness and illusion, unto the lights of erudition and knowledge, and from the muddy shallows of lusts unto the heavens of Your Vicinity.

Dear brother, this lecture will be about this occasion (The Hujri [lunar] New Year) in which the Prophet, peace be upon him, migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah.

First: The Prophet, peace be upon him, migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah and that migration was about moving to live in another place, society and social environment in order to apply the Method of Allah the Almighty. This indicates that if someone lives in a place where, for one reason or another, he cannot fulfill the purpose of his existence, which is worshipping Allah, he should leave it at once. Consider the example of a student who is sent to Sorbonne University in Paris to continue his studies at. If he is rejected, he should leave this city immediately, because the purpose of his existence in it will not be fulfilled.

Al-Hijrah basically means making obeying Allah, obeying His Messenger, peace be upon him, winning Paradise and being saved from the Hellfire the top priority.

Second: Al-Hijrah can be done after the death of the Prophet, peace be upon him, between any two cities like Makkah and Al-Madinah. Man should consider leaving the country he lives in to another one if the two countries have the same conditions Makkah and Al-Madinah had. Therefore, if you live in a very advanced country where your income is very high, but you cannot raise your children to obey Allah, you should leave it right away.

Fulfilling the needs of the new generation is the foremost priority:

I keep repeating this: No matter how prominent the position you occupy is and no matter how much wealth you collect, you are the most miserable man on earth if your son is not raised the way you want (Islamically). I know some brother who used to lead a life better than the life of kings in the United States, but they got back to their home country for the sake of their children. Your children are the continuation of your existence, your future and your destiny.

((By the night as it envelops;* And by the day as it appears in brightness;* And by Him Who created male and female; *Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes);))

[Al-Lail, 1-4]

Children are top priority to their parents, but as a young generation who belongs to this Ummah and who lives in Arab and Islamic countries, what does it need? This generation needs job opportunities, it needs to get married and it needs a house to dwell in. Thus, the country which finds her youth job opportunities, helps them get married and find them houses to live in, will keep them around as a source of power to her. Therefore, when the youth couldn't find jobs or houses they were not able to get married, and so they decided to migrate. In fact, the western countries are working around the clock to attract Arab brains to them. As you know in every society the number of genius and outstanding people is limited, and the progress and the development of Ummah are achieved by those brilliant people. Thus, when they are obliged to travel abroad (because of the bad conditions they are in), it is a big loss to Ummah.

When a brilliant student continues his studies in a western country, he will be given citizenship, residence, a high position and an abundant income, simply because the few brilliant brains are the reason behind the advance of the country.

Dear brother, you might think that migration is a historical event only, but believe me it is a contemporary event which every Islamic country suffers its bad effect. When someone visits a western country, he admires the luxurious lifestyle, the system and other civilized aspects. He will change his mind about coming back to his home country, and he will stay in the west for all the positives he finds there. Let me give you a simple example of this fact: In Michigan in the United States, there are 5000 Syrian doctors in Detroit alone, and they have decided to settle there for good. Imagine that they all come back to Syria; we will have America in Syria, because they cover all medical specialties starting with neurological surgery and ending with gastrointestinal surgery. When we look after our youth in our countries and fulfill the needs of the talented, we will keep the intelligent people in our Ummah.

I am trying to approach Al-Hijrah from a contemporary perspective. You all know the Prophetic migration, and on its annual anniversary lecturers and speakers talk about how the Prophet, peace be upon him, migrated, the one he migrated with, the way he took and the things he did before he migrated. These events are available to all of you, but the concept of migration from a contemporary perspective is very serious. Hence, your heroism lies in staying in your country. I would like to address some brother who preferred staying in America to their own home country: Do you believe that what you are now (as a person) is because of what your home country offered you? But what did you do in return? You left your country and put all your science at the service of the enemies of your Ummah, which is a deadly mistake. I hope that my words find their way to the right ears in order to keep our youth, especially the brilliant amongst them, because by keeping them we protect the future of this Ummah.

Islam is not mere passive admiration:

Dear brother, Al-Hijrah originally is the migration of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and it means moving from one place to another; it is about taking a positive step (for the sake of Islam). Islam is not about passive admiration; it is not about saying, "Islam is great, it is a Divine revelation, it was sent down to our Prophet, peace be upon him, the Master of mankind and the beloved to the Haqq (Allah)", because these words are useless as long as they are not accompanied with practical application. You will never reap the fruits of Islam if you do not apply it, so saying nice words, admiring Islam passively or praising this religion is pointless without being religiously committed to this religion.

Dear brother, our master Sa'd Ibn Abi Waqqas said, "There are three situations in which I consider myself a real man, and apart from them I am just one of the common people: (1) whenever I pray, I never get myself busy with anything else till I finish my prayer, (2) whenever I attend a funeral, I never get myself preoccupied with something irrelevant to the funeral till it is over (3) and whenever I hear something from the Prophet, peace be upon him, I know for sure that it is the truth revealed to Him from Allah the Almighty." You are appreciated (in the Sight of Allah) according to your good deeds:
By the way, we are appreciated (in the Sight of Allah) according to our good deeds, Allah says:

((For all there will be degrees (or ranks) according to what they did.))

[Al-An'am, 132]

The Prophet, peace be upon him, migrated from Makkah-where he was accused of lying, his Companions were tortured and some of them were killded- to Al-Madinah where his Divine Message was accepted. Thus, the place you move to live in should serve the Divine cause. Let me be frank with you: People who travel abrod seek either collecting money or conveying the Divine message. The true believer has a message to convery to sh3er, so he shouldn't live purposelessly. Serve your religion, leave your print in this life in order to be remembered after your death and be among the superiors. Allah gave people the same capabilities, but some of them use these capabilitites, while the other neglect them.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah, but the migration gate was closed forever after the conquest of Makkah as it is indicated in the following Hadith:

((There is no migration after the conquest (of Makkah).))

[Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, At-Tirmizi and An-Nasa'i, by Abdullah Ibn Abbas]

So what is left for us? All we have now is the permissible migration from one country (which has the same condition of Makkah) to another (which has the same conditions of Al-Madinah) Makkah and Al-Madinah, till the Day of Resurrection.

Forsaking what Allah has forbidden:

The third thing is: The wide, daily, close and dynamic meaning of migration to us is forsaking the things which Allah has forbidden. Abandoning a bad mouth wicked friend, who will most likely drag you to the corrupted path, is considered migration. Also, leaving whatever has negative effects on your life, is considered migration from matters which Allah has forbidden.

Dear brother, people usually ask the following question: For what purpose were we here in the worldly life? To answer such a question I have to explain a delicate point: Basically you are a motivated creature, but what exactly motivates you? You are motivated by three needs in life, the need for food and drink, the need for marriage and the need to prove yourself. These three needs are permitted in Islam; you are allowed to work in order to fulfill the needs of your family, you are allowed to convey your message to sh3er and you are allowed to be remembered after your death.

The meanings of Rizk (provision):

When man is granted provision, he should make it the means through which he is exalted. However, provision has many meanings in the Quran, Allah says:

((And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)!))

[Al-Waqi'ah, 82]

This means that Rizk embraces faith, obedience, connecting with Allah and having pious children. This is the wide meaning of Rizk. Thus, your Rizk should be your means to be exalted in the Sight of Allah. Accordingly, if the country you would like to settle in is an obstacle on the way to gain the intended Rizk (the wide meaning of it), you should leave that country, because the purpose of your existence is fulfilling this goal (worshipping Allah).

Worshiping Allah is the purpose of man's existence in the worldly life:

The answer to the question which people ask (For what purpose are we here in worldly life?) is in the following Ayah:

((And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).))

[Adh-Dhariyat, 56]

The purpose of your existence in the worldly life is worshipping Allah.

In case you want to visit Paris and ask, "Which city should I visit (in Paris)?", we should know first why you want to go to Paris, and then we can give you the right answer. If you are a student, you should go to universities, if you are a tourist, you should to the parks and if you are a businessman, you should go to the factories and firms. Hence, your purpose determines your movement.

As for the question people ask at the beginning of this meeting, I would like to refer to the answer some common people give to it. They say, "Glory be to Allah, He created us for hardship". Notice how they mention Allah before saying so.

((And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).))

[Adh-Dhariyat, 56]

Listen to the second Ayah, please:

((Except him on whom your Lord has bestowed His Mercy (the follower of truth - Islamic Monotheism) and for that did He create them))

[Hud, 119]

Allah created you to bestow His Mercy on you and to grant you happiness. Yet, in order to have this mercy and happiness you should obey the Almighty Allah.

The bitter truth is better than the comfortable delusion:

Pay attention to the following Ayah in which the Almighty Allah says:

((Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth))

[An-Nur, 55]

Believe me, annihilating the entire universe is much easier for Allah than keeping His promises to the believers unfulfilled.

((Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth))

[An-Nur, 55]

Keep the following fact in your mind whenever you evaluate things and people around you: The bitter truth is much better than the comfortable delusion. Don't live in delusions, but rather live in reality. Consider the example of having a forged check of 100 thousand dollars in your pocket, what is better for you: Is it better to know that the check is forged, or to deny that fact and go to jail after you cash it? Similarly, is it better to tell you the bitter truth or to deceive saying that we are a great Ummah, we are the Ummah of Tawheed, we are the Ummah of revelation and we are the Ummah of the Prophets, peace be upon them? These are easy words to say, but the bitter truth is that the Divine promises entail commitment from our side in order to be fulfilled.

((Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth))

[An-Nur, 55]

Do we have succession in earth now? By Allah, no we do not!

((and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion))

[An-Nur, 55]

Is this great religion has the authority to be practised worldwide? By Allah, no it is not!

Let me tell you this: There has been a third world war launched against Islam secretly, but now it is declared publically and in broad daylight. Westerners want democracy to be prevailed in the Muslim World, but they did not encourage it when there was an attempt to prevail it during the fair elections in Egypt. When an Islamic figure won the elections he winded up in jail. There is a third world war has been declared against Islam, and this is the bitter truth.

In fact there is a very delicate truth (that we should all know): Allah doesn't ask us to make ready against our enemies using equivalent power (such as weapons), so what does He ask us to do? He asks us to make ready against them using the available power we have, Allah says:

((And make ready against them all you can))

[Al-Anfal, 60]

Allah will take care of the rest after you do your best. You should not think that you are not required to fight against the enemies of Islam unless we have equivalent power which matches theirs. Well, this is nonsense.

((And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.)))

[Al-Anfal, 60]

It is within our abilities to awaken this Ummah, to raise high her status, to raise high her glorious self-esteem and to accomplish again the mission it is assigned to her by Allah.

Being the best is provided with enjoining Al-Ma'ruf and forbidding Al-Munkar:

((Thus We have made you [true Muslims - real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation))

[Al-Baqarah, 143]

As if Allah says: O Ummah, you are the intermediary Ummah between Me and My creation. Allah says:

((You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples))

[Aal-'Imran, 110]

One of the most accurate meanings of the phrase "You are" is: "You have become", namely, you have become the best of people ever raised up:

((You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind;))

[Aal-'Imran, 110]

However, there are reasons for being chosen the best Ummah ever. The scholars said, "What are the reasons of being chosen? They are clarified in Allah's Saying:

((You enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah.))

[Aal-'Imran, 110]

The Noble Prophet, peace be upon him, said to his Companions:

(("How will it be for you when you stop enjoining Al-Ma'ruf and forbidding Al-Munkar?" The Companions asked inquisitively, "Will it happen, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Yes, and worse than that is going to happen." The Companions asked again: "What can be worse than that, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger, peace be upon him, replied, "How will it be for you when you enjoin Al-Munkar and forbid Al-Ma'ruf." The Companions asked, "Will it happen, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Yes, but worse than that." Once more shocking words came. It increased the concern which appeared in the question again. "What is worse than that, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger, peace be upon him, said, "How will it be for you when you perceive Al-Ma'ruf as Munkar and Al-Munkar as Ma'ruf?"))

[Ziyadat Razin, by Ali Ibn Abi Taleb]

Believe it or not, in some societies people are proud of committing sins and wrongdoings. Thus, this Ummah is in grave danger; it is getting away from the path of the Almighty Allah, and so nothing will save us from Allah's punishment but reconciling with Him, Allah says:

((And Allah would not punish them while you (Muhammad) are amongst them))

[Al-Anfal, 33]

The scholars of the interpretation of the Noble Quran said, "The meaning of 'amongst them' is that your Sunnah is applied in their lives, and so they will be saved from Allah's Punishment".

((nor will He punish them while they seek (Allah's) Forgiveness.))

[Al-Anfal, 33]

 Hence:

((You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah))

The reason behind being chosen ( the best Ummah) is enjoining Al--Ma'ruf and forbidding Al-Munkar. Accordingly, what will you do when you see your friend, brother or neighbor sinning? You should advise him gently, and in private. Avoid advising him in public or telling other people about it. As long as we advise one another, our Ummah will be saved:

((Indeed Ad-Deen (religion) is naseehah (sincere advice).))

[Muslim, Abu Dawood and An-Nasa'i, by Tamim bin Aus Ad-Dari]

This is one of the Prophetic comprehensive definitions of the religion.

((Ad-Deen (religion) is naseehah (advice, sincerity). We said: "For whom?". He, peace be upon him, replied, "For Allah, His Book, His Messenger and for the leaders of the Muslims and their masses))

[Muslim, Abu Dawood and An-Nasa'i, by Tamim bin Aus Ad-Dari]

 This is An-naseehah.

Da'wah to Allah is Fard Ayn (obligatory on every Muslim):

Da'wah to Allah is obligatory and it is enjoined on every Muslim (Fard Ayn). You may ask me to give you the proof, without which everyone will say whatever he likes, and I will refer to the following Ayah:

((Say (O Muhammad, peace be upon him): "This is my way; I invite unto Allah (i.e. to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite sh3er to Allah i.e to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge.))

[Yusuf, 108]

He who doesn't invite unto Allah with sure knowledge is not a follower of the Prophet, peace be upon him. You are not a follower of the Prophet, peace be upon him, unless you invite people unto Allah's Path with sure knowledge. Someone may use pretexts saying, "I am not educated enough Islamically… I don't have a high degree in religious studies… I am not a Khatib of a Masjid" and so on. Who told you that you are demanded to have all that?

((Convey from me even an Ayah of the Qur'an.))

[Al-Bukhari and At-Tirmizi, by Amr Ibn Al-'Aas]

It is enough for you to convey an interpretation of an Ayah, which you were impressed by during a Friday sermon, to your wife, children, neighbors, relatives and business partner. Therefore, Da'wah to Allah is Fard Ayn within the limits of your knowledge and towards people you know. Unlike this Da'wah, the one which is Fard Kifayah (legal obligation that if it is discharged by some Muslims, the rest of Muslims are excused from offering it) entails deep Islamic knowledge and devotion. Fard Al-Ayn is performed by conveying even one Hadith that you heard in the Masjid and was impressed by to those around you.

Why not writing down some notes while attending a religious session? You can discuss these notes in your assemblies with your relatives, family, grandchildren, brother and sisters. By doing this you will be fulfilling your Da'wah to Allah as Fard Ayn.

 Dear brother:

((You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden),))

When Muslims forsake forbidding Al-Munkar, they will all fall in the Sight of Allah:

((and you believe in Allah ))

Migration is about changing the status you are in, taking a step (a positive one), connecting with Allah, giving Sadaqah, withdrawing from wrongdoings. The believer deprives sh3er, give them (such as Sadaqah), keep in touch with them, severe ties with them, gets angry with them and be pleased with them for the Sake of Allah. Therefore, you are supposed to move towards achieving this goal as a Muslim.

Islamic occasions are a turning point in man's life:

Dear brother, these Islamic occasions are very nice although they pass by quickly. Al-Hijrah is an Islamic occasion which lasts for few days only, but wonderful words are said on it. Actually, this occasion is a turning point in our life, but we should know how to make it so. It is all in our hands.

((Myself, Mankind and Jinn are in a great serious state. I create them, then they worship other gods that they make for themselves; I bless them with my bounties, then they thank someone else for what I sent them; My Mercy descends to them while their evil deeds ascend to Me; I endear them with my gifts even though I have no need to any of them while they alienate themselves from Me with their sins even though they are desperate for my help. Whoever returns to Me, I accept him no matter how far he is; and whoever turns away from Me, I approach him and call on him… My dear people are those who are with Me. Whoever thanks Me, I grant him more blessings; whoever obeys Me, I raise him and endear him more. Whoever disobeys Me, I keep the doors of My Mercy open for him; if he returns to Me, I bestow him with My Love since I love those who repent and purify themselves for My Sake. If he does not repent, I still treat him by putting them in hardship to purify him… I reward every single good deed ten times over… I count every single bad deed as one unless the person repents and ask for My Forgiveness in which case I forgive even that one… My Forgiveness supersedes My Punishment as I am more merciful with My slaves than a mother with her child.))

[Al-Baihaki and AlHakim, by Mu'adh, Ad-Dailami and Ibn Asaker, by Abi Ad-Darda']

Remembering Allah in Salah is the greatest deed in it:

 Dear brother, when Allah says:

((And perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance.))

[Ta-Ha, 14]

Scholars commented, "Remembrance (of Allah) in Salah is the greatest deed in it".

 In another Ayah Allah says:

((Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you))

[Al-Baqarah, 152]

Ibn Abbas said, "When you offer Salah, you will be remembering your Lord and fulfilling your duty to Allah, but when Allah remembers you, He will grant you (through His Remembrance) the grace of security which is the most precious grace on earth, and it is only granted for the believers." The proof of that is in the following Ayah:

(((So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know." It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping sh3er besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided.))

[Al-An'am, 81-82]

What is waiting for a person in his fifties (why did not he perform good deeds while he was young)? Leaving this worldly life is the thing that is waiting him.

((O My slave, they go back and left you, and under the ground they buried you. Even if they had stayed with you, they would not have done you any good. I am the only One Who is left for you, and I am the Ever-Living Who never dies.))

The prudent considers the Hereafter in every move he makes:

One of the NLP principles is: Start from the end. The end of the worldly life is the grave. Some of us have (may be) a two bedroom house (or more), a wife, children, sons in law, daughters in law and, grandchildren, and he could have held banquets and have had spent evenings with sh3er. What is next? The grave is next. How will the life of the wealthy man, the life of someone who occupies a prominent social position, the enjoyments of the worldly life, the delicious kind of food and the deep affection end? They will all end in the grave. So where does heroism lie? Heroism lies in taking this serious event (death) into your account. Most people talk about their past and their present, but only few of them talk about the future. Hence, we should remember death as our Prophet, peace be upon him, asked us to do:

((Abundantly remember the destroyer of pleasures, the separator between lovers and the disperser of groups.))

[Ad-Dailami, by Anas]

((Live as long as you want, for you will die. Love whomever you want, for you will leave him. Do whatever you want for you will be requited for it))

[Al-Hakim, by Sahl, Sa'd and Abu Abdullah Ibn Umar]

Man is in loss since the passage of time consumes him:

I have never heard a comprehensive inclusive definition of man as the following one:

((Son of Adam! You are nothing but a number of days, whenever each day passes then part of you has gone.))

Hence, you are but a period of time, and the proof of that is in the following Ayah in which Allah swears by time:

((By Al-'Asr (the time)* Verily! Man is in loss,))

[Al-Asr, 1-2]

Why is he "In loss"? Man is in loss, because the passage of time consumes him. How can you survive this loss? Allah says:

((Except those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma'ruf)which Allah has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar)which Allah has forbidden), and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allah's Cause during preaching His religion of Islamic Monotheism or Jihad, etc.).))

[Al-Asr, 3]

Imam Ash-Shafi'i said, "These are the elements of salvation". Every day, your faith should increase, you should offer a good deed, you should invite people around you unto Allah with sure knowledge and you should be patient while seeking, applying and spreading the truth.

Man's heroism lies in reconciling with the Almighty Allah:

Dear brother, what I've just said is very crucial, because it has to do with our happiness in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. Man's heroism lies in reconciling with the Almighty Allah and reaching the end before it comes to him, how? I am referring to death; we can reach death in our minds before it reaches our bodies.

A student who got the height degree in baccalaureate was asked, "How did you get this degree?" He answered, "The moment of the exam period had always been in my mind during the academic year." Similarly, the fact that the worldly life is temporary is always in the mind of the true believer, and so he is obedient, he performs the acts of worship perfectly, he gives Sadaqah, he raises his children rightly (preventing the daughters from indecency which displeases Allah), he honors his wife, but he does not disobey Allah by doing so, etc. at I am hurt when I notice how people mistakenly thinkthat Islam is about performing these five things: Sawm, Salah, Hajj, Zakat and Shahadah. In fact, Islam is a detailed method of life which might reach 500 issues including your earning, spending and your relation with your neighbors, children, parents, grandparents, those whose social position is lower than yours, grandchildren, colleagues at work and partners in business. In brief, Islam is a detailed method of life which starts with the private marital issues and ends with the international relations.

Conclusion and farewell:

Dear brother, I wish you prosperity and success. I ask Allah to protect your faith, your families, and your children and I ask Him to grant peace to your country as this is a grace that is appreciated only by those who missed it.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatoh
