Story 118: Happiness is a result of following Allah's Commands

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Happiness in life depends on following Allah's Commands:

In the Name of Allah The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, The Lord (The One and Only) of the worlds. Blessings and peace be upon our master, Prophet Muhammad, the Truthful and the Faithful.
Dear brothers, the reality of Muslims' lives may show that some people worship other than Allah.
A man proposed to a woman whose father was very keen on her.
The father asked the betrothed: "Do you own a house son?"
He answered: "Yes I do."
The father then asked to see the deed of the house to make sure that he is telling the truth.
The father asked: "Do you have a job?"
He answered: "Yes I have a factory."
The father asked again: "Do you own it?"
He answered: "Yes it is mine".
Then the father asked to see the license and the man brought it to him.
The father asked: "Do you have a car?"
The man replied: "Yes I have."
And again the father asked to see its deed, and the man brought it to him.
The father approved the marriage and considered him excellent match for his daughter.
One day, the father was with his friends in his shop when his future son-in-law paid him a visit, so he introduced him as his daughter fiancé.
The face of one of his friends turned red and then he whispered to him: "He is not a Muslim." Obviously in this case his daughter can't get married to him.
The father asked his future son-in-law: "Are you not Muslim?"
He replied: "No I am not, but you didn't ask me about my religion."
This father was keenly concerned about his daughter’s financial future; however, he considered the matter of religion to be trivial.
I was once passing through a market in Damascus when one of the merchants stopped me and invited me to his office.
I spent a few minutes with him, during which he asked me about a man who had proposed to his daughter.
He told me that the man was good-looking, rich, and a perfect match for his daughter; however, he was not religiously committed.
He then asked me, 'What do you think?"
I said to him: "When you finish reciting Quran what do you say usually?"
He replied: "I say: Allah Almighty has spoken the truth".
I said: "Do you know what does that mean? It means that you believe in every word Allah says in Quran, and Allah says:

﴾ And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikun till they believe (in Allah Alone) and verily, a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik ﴿

[ Al-Baqarah, 221 ]

He was kind when receiving my answer, and I left his office.
I later overheard that he married his daughter to this wealthy man. Then I learned that they once had a fight, during which he stopped the car, opened the door, and kicked her out. Afterwards, they got divorced.
