We should consider death in our daily life:
In the Name of Allah The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, The Lord (The One and Only) of the worlds. Blessings and peace be upon our master, Prophet Muhammad, the Truthful and the Faithful.
Among the moral stories I have overheard is the following:
A high school principal whom I highly respect was visited by someone.
He told me that the man said to him: "Congratulate me."
The principal said: "For what?"
The man replied: "I applied for a job in Algeria and I was accepted."
The principal said: "Good for you."
The man added that the salary would be five times higher and that the contract included four summer leaves during the five years.
The man continued saying: "I will travel to France during the first leave, to Italy during the second leave, to Austria during the third leave and to Spain during the fourth leave. Then, after the five-year contract is over, I will return to Damascus. The first thing I will do is sell my small house and move to a bigger one. After that, I will buy an antique shop for my children, although this shop is not meant to be our main source of income"
I remember everything the principal told me, word for word.
The principal said to me: "I was courteous to him for 50 minutes. Then he said goodbye, and I returned to my school. By Allah, the only Deity worthy of worship, that very evening, I read his obituary."
Every created being dies,
and none remains except the One of Might and Majesty.
