Ramadan Lectures- Ramadan Notions 1445H- Lesson 30: When does Ramadan achieve its desirable purpose?

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Out of Divine Wisdom in the obligation of Siam (fasting) is that it is the means to take a quality leap forward that makes man fully obedient to Allah.
This obedience, that is achieved in Ramadan, should continue for the rest of the year. In other words, in every Ramadan we have a leap forward. When the next Ramadan comes, we have another leap and so on. Each leap should be followed by steadfastness and maintaining a high level of righteousness.
Thus, heroism lies in keeping all the good things you get used to in Ramadan, such as the acts of obedience, controlling self-whims, guarding one's senses, ensuring that the income and spending are lawful, reciting Quran and performing prayers.
These quality leaps in the acts of worship and in drawing closer to Allah should continue for the rest of the year. Only then, the month of Ramadan will achieve its desirable purpose.
