Ramadan Hadiths- (2): 'Every good deed of Adam's son is for him except fasting; it is for Me. and I shall reward (the fasting person) for it.'

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Dear noble brothers,  Sawm (fasting) is a special act of worship since Allah the Almighty made it special from among all other deeds   as reported in the following sound Hadith:

(Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "(Allah said), 'Every good deed of Adam's son is for him except fasting; it is for Me. and I shall reward (the fasting person) for it.')

[Ibn Majah]

This is enough reason to  understand the greatness of Sawm to Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, and how abundant its reward is. Allah the Almighty specifies the reward for Sawm to His Exalted Character to draw our attention to the great reward of the Sa'em.

(…It is for Me. and I shall reward (the fasting person) for it.')

The reward for Sawm is doubled in comparison to the reward of other acts of worship which indicates its greatness. It was reported in Sahih Muslim on the authority of Abi Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

("The reward of every (good) deed of a person is multiplied from ten to seven hundred times. Allah (peace be upon him) says: 'The reward of observing Sawm (fasting) is different from the reward of other good deeds; Sawm is for Me, and I Alone will give its reward. The person observing Sawm abstains from food and drink only for My sake.' The fasting person has two joyous occasions, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time of meeting his Rubb (Lord). Surely, the breath of one observing Sawm is better smelling to Allah than the fragrance of musk.")
