The religion in one word:
What is the connection between patience and faith?
Faith is, in reality, patience. It is about shaping your life, which is often driven by desires, to be according to Allah's Divine Way.
The believer eats, drinks, gets married, works, makes money and brightens, but he does all that within the framework of Allah's Way of life. On the other hand, the disbeliever eats (using unlawful financial means), drinks wine, commits adultery, lies, kills and spreads destruction, as we see and hear every day.
﴾ Is then he who is a believer like him who is Fasiq (disbeliever and disobedient to Allah)? Not equal are they. ﴿
﴾ Shall We then treat the (submitting) Muslims like the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists and disbelievers, etc.)?* What is the matter with you? How judge you? ﴿
﴾ Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, in their present life and after their death? Worst is the judgement that they make. ﴿
﴾ Is he whom We have promised an excellent promise (Paradise), which he will find true, like him whom We have made to enjoy the luxuries of the life of (this) world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)? ﴿
The entire religion can be summed up in one word: "Patience".
The clearest example is the following: To become a distinguished physician, one may spend nearly 37 years in education and training. Such a long journey requires patience; without it, he might have turned into one of the street children.
Tangible desires leave no lasting trace in the future. If a person indulges in every desire in life, will that make him a scientist? Will it make him a distinguished industrialist? Absolutely, it will not.
Patience is needed even in our worldly life so that one may truly shine.
