Scientific topics from sermons- lesson (181)- Allah Speaks about Darkness in Outer Space

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

What does this fact refer to?

Dear noble brothers, one day, an astronaut was paying a visit to one of the spacecraft launching stations, which was in constant contact with a space-ship that had just been launched into space, in one of the developed countries, and suddenly he heard the astronaut of the spaceship exclaiming, "We have become completely blind! We can see nothing!" The ship had been launched in the bright day light, but after a short time, it had crossed the earth's atmosphere into outer space, where it was in total darkness out of the blue. What happened so as to make the astronaut exclaim, "We have become completely blind! We can see nothing!"?!

The thing that happened is that when sunrays reach the earth's atmosphere, their light scatters by means of molecules of air and particles of sand. This is called "diffusion of light" which happens when the sunlight is reflected on particles of sand and molecules of air, making them bright.

If we go to Allah's Book (the Noble Quran) which was revealed more than 14 centuries ago, when mankind did not have any spaceships to invade space, neither did they go out of the earth's atmosphere, as they now do, we shall find a scientifically miraculous Ayaat therein. Allah the Almighty says:

﴾ And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto* They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." ﴿

[ Al-Hijr, 14-15 ]

Is this conformity (between the Ayaat and what the astronaut said) not a rigorous evidence that the Noble Quran is Allah's Book? Let me repeat the Ayaat, please:

﴾ And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto* They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." ﴿

[ Al-Hijr, 14-15 ]

Some of the characteristics of the Divine Revelation:

Dear believing brothers, the Divine Revelation that was sent down to the Messenger of Allah PBUH is characterized by the fact that its evidence is taken from itself, and that such evidence conforms to its subject-matter. This is because the Divine Revelation that the Prophet PBUH conveyed is indisputably from Allah the Almighty, as clearly manifested by a glaring phenomenon, namely inimitability of the Quran. In other words, the facts confirmed by such Divine Words were absolutely unknown to mankind at the time when the Noble Quran was revealed; and now, with the advance of science and technology, some of such facts have been discovered. This fact is reiterated by Allah's Words:

﴾ We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur'an) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things? ﴿

[  Fussilat, 53 ]

The use of the future time in the above Ayaat denotes clearly that as time passes (when more and more scientific miracles are unveiled in the Noble Quran) the deniers, disbelievers and doubtful people will realize that the Noble Holy Quran is indeed Allah's Book.

Conclusion:

O Allah, we beseech You to show us the way of righteousness together with those to whom You showed it; and to give us good health together with those whom You have healed; and to be our Protector, as You are of those whom You protect; and to bless what You have bestowed on us; and to save us from the affliction that You have decreed –for You rule with justice and You are never judged; and he whom You protect shall never be humiliated, and he whom You make Your enemy shall never be elevated, blessed and dignified are You. We thank You for what You have decreed, we ask You for Forgiveness for our sins, and we repent to You.

O Allah help us observe Siyaam (fasting), perform Salat at night, lower our gaze and control our tongue. O Allah, grant us a good deed that would draw us closer to You. Please, increase us [in Your Blessings] and do not decrease us, honor us and do not humiliate us, give us [from Your Gifts] and do not deprive us, be in favor of us and not against us, and make us satisfied and be satisfied with us. Please make us do well in the Deen, which is our dignity, make us do well in our worldly life, in which we dwell and grant us saety on the Day of Judgment, for it is our Final Destination. O Allah, please supply our life with all good things and make our death a rest from every evil.

O our Master, the Lord of all Worlds, please make us desire what You have made lawful and reject what You have made unlawful, make us by Your benevolence independent of all others and make our obedience to You turn us away from our disobedience. O Allah, let us not be oblivious to Your planning; do not deprive us of Your shield and do not make us forget Your remembrance, O Lord of the Worlds.

O Allah, we seek refuge in You from incurable disease, the malice of enemies, shattered hope and withdrawal of favor, O You are the Most Generous. We seek refuge in You from need except of You, from meekness except before You and from fear except of You.

O Allah, by Your Mercy and Benevolence, raise high the word of truth and this Deen, grant triumph to Islam, dignify Muslims and lead the rulers of Muslims to what pleases You, O Lord of the Worlds, as You are the only One Who is capable over His Decree.
